In an effort to expand our knowledge base in the field of optometry and ophthalmics, we attended Vision Expo in New York City. This is the largest trade show in the USA catering to the optometry market. This day-long excursion enabled us to gain a great deal of information and insight into where the market is heading, and what is of greatest importance to that target audience. The on-going Covid pandemic has seen more technology being developed that supports tele-health and tele-medicine applications. “We were delighted to have the opportunity to talk with suppliers, distributors, reps and doctors at the show about their needs, and how they were being addressed,'' said Mark Lesselroth, president and CEO of BioPortUSA.”
Vision Expo East features more than 360 companies from several distinct neighborhoods and offers leading continuing education as well as engaging and informative programming. Presented under the banner of VisionEd, Vision Expo’s education program offered more than 230 hours of education, from the latest business strategies and fashion trends to patient education tactics and cutting-edge innovations. Returning to the Show for 2022, OptiCon®@Vision Expo offers an unmatched education program and exhibit hall experience for opticians, contact lens practitioners and ophthalmic allied professionals.
Following the show, Fran Pennella, Vice President, Vision Expo, at RX, and co-organizer of Vision Expo shared: “It was incredible to bring the vision care community together again in New York City for the first time since 2019. The Show Floor was buzzing with activity and the energy, especially on day one, was palpable as motivated attendees and exhibitors reconnected with their peers, conducted business and engaged with the education offerings. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the support and commitment of all our attendees, exhibitors and partners – we are truly grateful to each and every one who participated in this year’s exciting event.”
